How does this work?

Our web platform allows you to answer your customers either via automated WhatsApp messages (chatbot) and/or by your staff. Your customers will send in a WhatsApp message and it will appear in the backend web platform. The chatbot and/or your staff will then answer your customer’s questions.

To which WhatsApp number must your customers send in their message?

There are two types of numbers namely a Shared number or Own number. When you test the system under the free trial (or subscribe to the Basic Package) you will use a Shared Number. To get your own dedicated number, you either need to use the App Based option or apply for your own number under the Pro or Enterprise options.

What is the difference between a Shared Number and Own Number?

With a shared number your customers are linked to you in one of three ways:
By them sending in a special keyword that links them to you
By a bit of code that is put on your website that will automatically prompt them WhatsApp the keyword in to the Shared Number thereby linking them to you
You upload a list of cell phone numbers of your customers

With your Own Number any message that is received (from any cell number) will show in your platform.

Can I use this platform to send marketing messages?

No, unfortunately you cannot send outbound marketing messages to people who have not yet contacted you. WhatsApp is very strict about spamming. You can however send messages to people who contacted you before.

Do I need to have a cell phone or desktop software to use this platform?

No. You simply register and/or subscribe to this web platform. Because no desktop software is used, anybody can use it from anywhere. Everybody can see all messages thereby ensuring prompt replies. You can also see who is online and helping clients. Update: Our new App Based version does require you to have an Android cell phone on which you have to install the WhatsKonnekt App

What if I have an existing WhatsApp number, can you activate that number for me on your platform?

Yes, subject to:
WhatsApp/Facebook approval (which we will help to arrange)
That you can receive the WhatsApp verification message via SMS or voice.

Does your platform offer an API and what does it do?

We do have an API that allows messages to be sent and received via our application. We provide you with webhooks for incoming and outgoing messages.

Message Templates are message formats for common reusable messages a business may want to send. Businesses must use Message Templates for sending notifications to customers.
This allows a business to send just the template identifier along with the appropriate parameters instead of the full message content
